Virgin Islands Granite & Marble - Our Story

We know the logistics of doing business in the Virgin Islands.

Mike Cordiner, owner and operator of VIGM, has an impressive background in engineering, construction management, and interior design. Originally from Wyoming, he has been working in the Virgin Islands since 1995.

Mike founded Island Tile and Marble in the year 2002 as a tile supply and installation company. By 2003, he saw the need for granite countertops and began doing business as Virgin Islands Granite and Marble. Clients were so impressed with the superior quality of their countertops, and with the excellent customer service, that they asked for cabinetry too.

Now, from design to installation, VIGM offers one-stop shopping for kitchen and bath needs.

Countertops

One day in the year 2003, while working on a construction project, Mike Cordiner was asked if he could supply granite countertops. Of course he was up to the challenge; however, a challenge was an understatement. The expensive countertops arrived broken in the shipping container. The client’s schedule was delayed until the reorder arrived. Mike didn’t give up. Instead, he decided that what the islands needed was a fabrication shop - on the island. Mike set up shop.

Today, VIGM’s fabrication shop is located in Bovoni, and the showroom is located in East End Boat Park, directly across from Food Center. Visit today!

Kitchen and Bath Designs

Mike works with clients to design their dream kitchens and baths, always aligning with the professional standards of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). Design consultations, renderings, and estimates are free services as part of our excellent customer service.

All kitchen and bath designs are completed using the professional 20/20 Design software.

Cabinetry

VIGM represents four lines of all wood cabinetry to every dream and budget: Crystal, Shiloh, Holiday Kitchens, and Armstrong. Styles from contemporary, to traditional, to old world, to eco-friendly – the possibilities are endless. We love to be creative. And, it’s amazing what we can do with small spaces!
